The trip to the Petronas Art Gallery

I cant remember when we went to the art gallery at KLCC, but i remembered that it was actually pretty, cool. I went there with my mindset thinking that it would just be alright, there wasnt much to look at a gallery, of course other than the art there. But to my suprise it was rather interesting. There was one picture  that i really liked. I cant really describe it, and i couldnt take a picture of it too. I tried looking for it in the internet but to no avail. I wish i wrote this post earlier or rather right after the trip, haha. I cant even remember the picture now, but i remember the sensation and thought that lingered in my mind. It left an impact on me, one that clinged on subtley for days.

I definitely respect artists now. They are able to convey their emotions, thoughts, ideas, messages, expressions, etc, through a stroke of their brush, a drop of paint, it intrigues me how they are able to pour their passion into something, to create something out of nothing. They tell stories that might never be heard, stories that most wouldnt understand. I envy their ability, to tell tales and stories without words, to brighten minds without light.I guess the saying ' A picture is worth a thousand words' is true.

I know its late, but hey better late than never. We were told to post about colours that we like most. I thought that this was an interesting one. Colours, come to think of it, its everywhere everything you see has a colour. Its safe to say that colours 'brighten' up things. Now imagine a world without colours, what would an apple look like, what would the sky look like, what would a tree look like? Hard to imagine it, life would be so ... dull. I always believed that little things make up the big picture. Its the littlest details that count, without it, things wouldn't seem.. complete. Now back to the main topic, colours that we like.

First thing that comes to mind when it comes to colours is, purple, blue and red. These three colours just seem to intrigue me and it has a way of getting my attention. Purple represents majesty, sophistication, mystery, dreams. Blue represents, calmness, steadfastness, serenity, peace of mind. Red stands out, it shows boldness, the ability to take charge and lead. My choice of colours are mostly related to the 7 chakra of the human body. Its amazing how our mind reacts to certain colours, something as simple as a colour has the ability to alter our moods, thoughts and even desires. Pretty dam cool. These chakras are somewhat in relation to crystals and their vibrations, but thats a whole different topic, one too huge to discuss but if you have to time just look it up on the net, it might just interest you.

When Mr.Azhar talked about dimensions the other day it caught my attention. Im in to that shit hahaha. Human Consciousness. spiritualism, the human spirit all that kinda stuff. But what caught my attention about Spirit Science, (thats whats its referred to) is Lucid Dreaming. Imagine if you have the ability to shape a world, to mold mountains pave valleys with the simplest action, a single thought. Sounds too good to be true? But it is. Lucid Dreaming gives you that, it lets you explore the world of dream, of subconsciousness. I have experienced it myself, but i have only done it about 3 times. Its amazing, its another world 'out there'. These crystals helps you be aware in your dreams to 'wake up' in your dreams. I have a little crystal collection myself to help bring in the good vibes. Haha i sound like a freaking hippie. Its not related but yea.

Research on child abuse and child labour.

We were told that we would be doing a project based on the topics, child abuse and child labor or both if we choose to. A sensitive issue i would say, but one that shouldn't be left untouched. From what i know, children below the age of 15, aren't old enough or mature enough to tell the difference between whats right and whats wrong. They aren't old enough to think for themselves. Therefore, are unable to reason and make decisions, yet. Before they grow up and are thrown into the reality of the world that is filled with chaos, burdens and etc. They should be given the chance to live in world of innocence, a carefree period where all they do is absorb the good and learn the knowledge needed to steel themselves for the upcoming challenges. There are some children that are fortunate enough to have that privilege, and there are those that are thrown into the darker side of childhood. One that we now know as child labor and child abuse.

I have done my fair share of research on these topics, and the following would be what i understand about it. To classify one's case as child labor, one would include the following criterias :
- Violation of minimum age laws.
- Threatens a child in any form.
- Preventing children from basic education rights.
- Involves intolerable abuse.

This happens nearly globally, Of an estimated 215 child laborers around the globe: approximately 114 million (53%) are in Asia and the Pacific; 14 million (7%) live in Latin America; and 65 million (30%) live in sub-Saharan Africa.[1]

It seems that most of the cases occur mainly because of poverty. Young children, some even below the age of 5 are forced to work under harsh conditions and sometimes even life threatening. In some cases, children are sold as slaves to help relief debts, others are forced to work to help support families and in some extreme cases children are made into child soldiers. Its a shame that the promising younger generation is robbed of their opportunity to shine in the future. Some are lucky enough to be rescued and given second chances others, not so.

To classify one's case as child abuse, one would include the following criterias :
- Child is physically abused.
- Emotionally abused.
- Sexually abused.
- Child is uncared for, not given basic needs to survive.

It is reported that nearly 3 million cases of child abuse are reported each year. I looked around the internet for reasons why does child abuse occur. Its stated that drug abusers, alcoholics, people with extreme temper or abusive nature tend to be abusers. With this being said, it looks like as if people who have less control over their composure or after substance abuse tend to let our their rage on children. But, there are no boundaries to abuse. Even a person with high standing, of great reputation can be an abuser. A simple slap across the face can lead to another and soon escalate. Even words can leave an effect, after all words are as sharp as swords. Children that are neglected are also considered as abusing them, which makes sense since a child isn't old enough to take care of themselves and hence need guidance and protection from the parents.
